The Most Important Thing Nigerian Tailors & Fashion Designers Don't Know About Getting High-Paying Customers

Let me ask you a question.
This is about one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in the past 8 years of hands-on experience as a business owner.
Take a look at the picture below.
Imagine you specialize in sewing men’s clothing.
How much will you charge for the attire the man in the picture is wearing?
₦20,000?
₦50,000?
₦100,000?
Well, guess what...
Veekee James, a popular fashion designer in Nigeria, charges ₦220,000 for just the attire (no shoes, no cap, no wristwatch).
Confirm it from the screenshot of her Instagram post below if you don’t believe it.
And this is even one of her low-cost attires.
Some of her dresses go for as high as ₦1,500,000.
Yes, one million five hundred thousand Naira.
And they sell like hotcakes.
The interesting fact is, Veekee James herself didn't sit down on the sewing machine to sew the dress.
No!
She has a lot of employees that do that for her.
Now, the funny part is this:
If the particular tailor that made the garment was to put it out for sale, the tailor would probably not be able to sell it for up to ₦220,000.
Do you know why?
This is because tailoring isn't just about knowing how to sew.
It's far more than that!
Let me explain...
Tony Robbins, the renowned wealth coach, said that success is 20% skills and 80% psychology.
As a tailor who wants to attract high-paying (aka affluent) customers, this means…
No doubt, your skills have several benefits.
It allows you to sew beautiful attires that offer comfort and durability.
Your skills as a tailor also allow you to provide unique designs as requested by your customers.
This is an amazing part and it’s commendable.
But the truth is, knowing how to sew is just 20% of your job in attracting wealthy customers who can pay well.
The remaining 80% lies in your marketing strategies.
This is because getting a large base of premium customers requires good marketing.
And this is what differentiates a successful tailor from an unsuccessful tailor.
Now, the question is…
Are you taking the right steps to entice customers to patronize you?
And remember, we’re not talking about just any type of customer here.
But customers who can pay well.
Because low-paying customers who negotiate excessively can be very frustrating.
So, you must implement effective marketing strategies that will capture the attention and interest of affluent customers in your business.
These customers have a lot of money to spend on dresses that will make them look good.
They’ll often appreciate your efforts and reward your hard work.
Having affluent individuals as customers can also open more opportunities for you, especially when they find your work satisfactory and recommend you to their friends.
The most important lesson here is to take your marketing seriously if you want to grow an established fashion brand that serves wealthy customers who pay high prices.
If you’re truly interested in getting rich and well-to-do customers to patronize your business, I think you should watch this free video-training I recently created.
